The MobileGo is a mobile welding fume filter with an extraction arm and a built-in fan. It contains a disposable filter package. Thanks to the four transport wheels (two of which are swivel casters), the MobileGo is suitable for use in relatively small facilities or near sources of pollution without a fixed location.

The MobileGo Plus comes with a metal tube arm (KUA) and has a filter surface of 26m².

    Features

    • Effective protection against exposure to welding fume
    • Excellent price x performance
    • Easy to manoeuvre
    • Two stage filter for longer filter life
    • Enhanced safety with integrated spark deflection plate

    Applications

It is designed as an entry level extractor or for welding processes that produce little fume. It is an ideal solution for auto repair shops, welding schools, technical colleges, small workshops and the agricultural sector. It has been designed for the consumption of approximately one coil of solid wire or 7.5Kg / 16.5lbs of electrodes per month and TIG welding.

    Plymovent Mobile Fume Extractors FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using mobile welding fume extractors.

What is a mobile fume extractor and when should I use one?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A mobile fume extractor is a self-contained wheeled unit with a fan and filter, normally used with a flexible extraction arm or a hose. It captures welding fume at the source, filters it and returns clean air to the workshop.

It suits site work, repair and maintenance, small batches, confined spaces and any place where a fixed system is not practical. It can be moved to wherever the welding is happening.

What types of filter do mobile units use?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Mobile units commonly use one of several filter designs: disposable cartridge or panel filters, filters that are cleaned automatically (often by pulses of compressed air), or electrostatic designs that collect particles on charged plates. Designs and cleaning methods vary between makers.

Your process, how many hours a day the unit runs and the material welded should guide the choice. Check the data plate and manual of any unit for its filter type, what it is suited to and how it is cleaned or replaced.

Do I need an extraction arm, and how does it affect performance?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Extraction only works if the capture point is close to the weld, so check what is included with any unit and whether an arm or hose and hood are needed. The hood should be as close to the arc as practical, positioned so the fume rises towards it.

A hood held too far away captures little. Longer arms, hoses and bends add resistance and reduce the airflow at the hood, so choose a length that fits the job. The manual for your unit will give the recommended hood position and arm length.

How do I know if a unit has enough airflow for my work?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Compare the unit's rated airflow with the demands of the process and the arm or hose fitted. Higher-current processes and flux-cored wires generate more fume than light TIG work. Airflow at the hood, not just at the fan, is what matters.

The manufacturer's guidance and the risk assessment should set the requirement. If you are unsure, ask our team or have an LEV specialist assess it.
