MSA-200 Spares FAQs
Straight answers to the questions people ask most when finding and fitting spare parts for a large 200 mm articulated fume extraction arm.
How do I identify the right spare part for my extraction arm?

Check the data plate or label on the arm for its type and size, and the manual if you have it. Then name the part you need: a tube, hose, hood, gas spring, bracket, damper or balance mechanism.
Large arms look similar to smaller ones but differ in diameter, length and spring force, so do not rely on appearance. Send a photo of the part and label if you are unsure, and our team can help you match it.
Can I fit parts from a different size of arm?

Only if the maker says so. Arms of different sizes can differ in duct diameter, length, weight and spring force, and the bracket and fixings are chosen for the load they carry.
Check the data plate and manual for your own arm, and use parts listed for that exact arm. If you are unsure, send the label details and a photo and ask before you order.
How do I choose the right gas spring?

Gas springs are rated by force, and the correct rating depends on the arm size and what is fitted to it. Too weak and the arm sags, too strong and it rises or is hard to pull down.
Match the new spring to the old one by the rating marked on it, or to the spare listed for your exact arm. Larger arms often use higher-force springs, so check what fittings, such as a hole plate, are needed.
How do I choose the right hose length?

The hose diameter must match the arm's duct, and the length should let the arm move through its full range without kinking or pulling tight. Too long and it forms loops that restrict airflow.
Fit clamps at both ends for an airtight seal. Large hose is heavier, so check that it is supported and not dragging the arm out of balance.
