Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing spare parts for a mobile electrostatic filter unit.
They are replacement parts for a mobile fume filter that uses electrostatic filtration: collector sections, ioniser sections and wires, insulators, electronics boards, capacitors and transformers, safety switches, plus the motor, fan wheel, castors, covers and other general parts. They cover both the electrical filter stages and the mechanical parts of the unit.
Particles in the airflow are given an electrical charge in the ioniser section, then are attracted to charged and earthed plates in the collector section, where they stick. Some units also have a pre-filter and a carbon stage.Because the collector is cleaned and reused, it relies on correct electrical function and regular cleaning.
Check the data plate for the unit type, supply voltage and frequency, and look up the parts list in the manual. The electrical parts in particular depend on the unit's version and age.Note any markings on the old part and send a photo if unsure. Our team can help you choose.
Start with the collector section: if it is heavily coated with dirt, the unit cannot capture properly and needs cleaning following the manufacturer's method. Then check the pre-filter, airflow and ioniser wires. If the unit still performs poorly, there may be an electrical fault in the high-voltage supply.
It depends on the process, the amount of fume and how long the unit runs. Heavy or oily fume loads up faster.Clean it when performance drops or at the interval in the manual for your unit, using the method the manual gives. Do not use a method that could damage the plates, and follow the manual on drying and refitting before the unit is switched on again.
The thin wires create the electrical field that charges particles. They can become dirty, corroded, stretched or broken, which reduces charging or causes sparking or crackling.Replace them if damaged or if cleaning does not restore performance, and handle them carefully because they are fine.
