    The FCC-150 is a two-piece filter cartridge used as a main filter in a centralised filter system. It is constructed out of cellulose fibres. The medium is formed into a wedge-shaped filter pattern and molded into a round profile. As a result of this special pleated design and construction, along with the final embossing of filter medium, an equal airflow is created, enabling the weight of dust flow to be equally distributed over the filter surface.

    The welding fume particles are collected on the outside of the filter cartridge. When the pressure drop reaches a certain minimum level, it is automatically cleaned by compressed air-shots from the inside of the filter. This makes it a self-cleaning filter.

    How do I identify the right spare part for my filter unit?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

    Start with the data plate on the unit, which shows the model and usually a serial number or year of manufacture. Note these down before you look for a part, because makers sometimes change components part-way through a model's life.

    Then check the parts list in the manual, which shows each part with its reference. If you cannot find the manual or are unsure whether a part matches, take a photo of the old part and the data plate. Our team can help you check before you buy.

    How does the compressed air cleaning system work, and what can go wrong?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

    Short blasts of compressed air are fired back through the cartridges to knock the collected dust off into the collection container. The air is released by valves, which are controlled by a timer or by a pressure sensor.

    Typical faults are a worn valve diaphragm or spring, a blocked or leaking air line, low or wet supply air, or a failed control board. If the cartridges are not cleaning, the pressure across the filter climbs and airflow falls. Check the air supply first, then the valves.

    How do I know if a cleaning valve needs a repair kit?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

    Signs include a constant hiss of escaping air, a valve that fails to fire when the cleaning cycle runs, or cartridges that clog even though the air supply is correct. Diaphragms and springs are wear parts and harden or split with age.

    Isolate and depressurise the air supply before you take a valve apart. A repair kit replaces internal wear parts such as the diaphragm and spring, so it will not cure a cracked or damaged valve body, and it must match your valve. Check the data plate and manual for your unit, and replace the whole valve if the body is damaged.

    Can I use compatible parts instead of genuine ones?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

    Compatible parts can work, but the quality varies. For filter cartridges, the filter media, the seals and the exact dimensions all affect how well the unit captures fume and how long it runs between cleans. A poor fit lets dirty air bypass the filter.

    For safety-related or control parts, such as spark protection, pressure switches and electrical components, matching the original specification matters most. If you are unsure, use parts that are confirmed to suit your model.
