MobileOne Spare Parts FAQs
Straight answers to the questions people ask most when finding and fitting spare parts for a mobile fume filter unit.
How do I identify the correct spare part for my mobile filter unit?

Start with the data plate on the unit, which gives the model, serial number and electrical details. Quote these when you look for a part, along with the name of the part and, if possible, a photo.
The same unit can have versions with different motors, voltages or filter types, so the details on the plate matter. If you are unsure, our team can help you match the right spare to your machine.
What type of filter cartridge should I choose?

Choose the cartridge made for your unit, in the correct size. Some cartridges are anti-static, which is helpful where static charge could build up in the filter, and the filter material should suit the dust or fume you are collecting.
Do not fit a cartridge that is only roughly similar, because a poor seal lets unfiltered fume pass through. Check the type against the unit's manual or data plate.
Is changing a filter cartridge a hazardous job?

It can be. The dust collected in the unit may contain harmful substances, depending on the material you weld or cut, and some of those are serious health hazards. Wear suitable protective clothing and respiratory protection, as set out in your risk assessment.
Isolate the unit first, avoid shaking or knocking the used cartridge, and bag it for disposal in line with waste rules. Clean up any spilled dust with a suitable industrial vacuum, not by sweeping.
Can I replace electrical parts like fuses, relays and the motor myself?

Electrical work must only be done by a competent person, with the unit isolated from the mains and the plug removed or locked off. Fuses must be replaced with ones of the same rating and type, never a higher one.
Motors, relays, transformers and circuit boards need the right specification for the unit, including the voltage and phase. If you are not qualified, use a qualified electrician or service engineer.
