MiniMan 100 ATEX / SS Spares FAQs
Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing spare parts for stainless steel, explosion-protected and food-grade extraction arms.
What are these spare parts for?

They are replacement parts for a small-diameter extraction arm made in stainless steel or fitted for use in hazardous or hygiene-sensitive areas. They include inner and outer tubes, joints, hoods, balancing straps and hose sets.
The variants are built for places where ordinary painted steel or standard hose is not suitable.
Why choose stainless steel parts?

Stainless resists corrosion and is easier to clean, so it suits damp, chemical, washdown or hygiene-sensitive environments, and places where painted surfaces could flake.
Which grade is suitable depends on the environment, so check with the arm's manufacturer if the atmosphere is aggressive.
What is a food-grade hose?

It is a hose intended for use where it may touch or sit near food. Materials that contact food must be sufficiently inert, so they do not pass substances to the food in harmful amounts or unacceptably change its composition, taste or smell.
There is no single universal grade, so ask the hose maker for evidence that it suits your application. Use it only where your hygiene procedures call for it, and do not swap it for an ordinary hose in those areas.
Why does an explosion-protected arm need an antistatic hose?

In an explosive atmosphere, static electricity is an ignition risk, which is why static is controlled by bonding conductive parts together and to earth. A moving dusty air stream may build up charge, and an antistatic hose is intended to help conduct it away safely.
Do not replace it with a standard hose, even if the size matches. Follow the arm's manual and your site's risk assessment, and keep bonding connections intact.
